Behind Highland Hippie

The name Highland Hippie captures the owner and founder to her core. Having growing up visiting Scotland with Scottish ancestry from her mother’s side, she always found a sense of home with Scotland. A feeling that his hard to describe but is a part of her. When she isn’t in Scotland, she finds herself often feeling homesick. This feeling, otherwise known as “cianalas” in Scottish Gaelic, is the driving force behind Highland Hippie. Savannah wanted to create something special for those who may experience a similar feeling.

The mission of Highland Hippie aims to bring the feeling of home, comfort, and safety to all people who care for Scotland by:

  • Making and selling flower essence blends made from flowers and ingredients in Scotland

  • Offering flower essence sessions

  • Teaching about flower essences and herbal themed classes that are related to Scotland

  • Teaching about Scottish folklore and history

Meet the founder Savannah

Halò mo charaidean! [hello my friends] For my new friends, my name is Savannah. I am a Scottish lover and enthusiast. My goal is to blend my two passions together; that being my Scottish heritage and my love for herbalism. My love for herbalism came into fruition from spending summers with my grandparents as a young girl in Northern Minnesota. Here, I observed and helped my grandmother harvest wild blueberries and other herbs. These summers are where I learned to live with the land. Fast forward 15 years, with multiple visits to Scotland, I found myself attending an herbal school in Colorado. It was here where I acquired a certification in clinical herbalism and became a certified flower essence practitioner through the Colorado School of Clinical Herbalism.

With a degree and background in Hospitality and Tourism Management, I believe in meeting peoples’ needs in my own personal product line. My personal practice is flower essence driven. Focusing on 1:1 sessions where I formulate and dispense a personal flower essence blend geared towards your emotional wellbeing.
